Heading out to washington on friday and was wondering where the north landing is??

I've only been there once in the summer and the only landing i remember was the one next to that bar?? is that the landing everyone is talking about?

any info would be helpful.

thanks!!

Go onto the MN DNR website and look up lake finder. Type in Washington, Le Seuer county and click on lake maps. This will bring up a detailed map of the lake and the vegetation of the lake, also including the different accesses. The one by the westwood bar is not the north landing. The north landing is off of county rd 103. I think you'll find the website quite informative.

If your going to Washington to catch sunfish,go straight south from the north landing approx 200 yards until you find 10fow.Today I tried 8fow and looked with the camera and no fish to be seen. After 30 minutes I took the drill and punched 5 holes, looked with the camera and one hole was full of sunnies at 10 fow like it has been for the last week.

If your going to target crappies you might want to go out to 15-20fow and try ther as I didnt see many crappies with the camera in shallow water like I have in the last two trips out there.I used a white shrimpo tipped with a waxie or half of one and they both hit on that.Good Luck.

I can't keep it straight, where's bakers Bay?

While looking at the lake from the Westwood landing go left (east) to the first point on left (Squirrel's Nest point). Take a left (north). That is Bakers.

Hey RobJ. Are you still planning on fishing Washington N shore. This is the lake I usually fish and the 3rd point (N shore) is the place I fish. I'll be fishing it hard this week as I am off from work. I believe I talked to you and your buddy at the channel in Albert Lea 2 weekends ago. You were testing out your new Marcum. Let me know if I can help speed up your learning curve for this lake. I'll be out on Washington on Friday. Just look for a couple of little kids running around on the lake and I won't to too far off. Stop by and say hi.

Planning on going out tomorrow around 7am.

Fished Washington all day today. Very tough day. Started the day in the shallow bay. Smaller sunfish in 10 feet and not the numbers as last week. At about 9 until about 3 I fished around 3rd point and picked up a few crappies and sunfish. Most of the fish were just lookers. I returned to the bay and most of the fish were lookers also. I used a ratso and larva with 1lb, spring bobber so I know what a lite bite is. The fish just didn't want to bite. I moved around and hole hopped over 30 holes and I didn't mark too many fish. The fish did turn on a bit around 4:30. Worst day on Washington in a really long time. I'm going to another lake tomorrow.

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
