Hi Shannon,

It's the same old story out of Warroad. You don't hear

anything until after Christmas. I think it's because

when Harv and Tom were winter fishing they didn't go out

until New Years Day.

Also, there are lots of locals that fish out of Warroad

and they stay pretty tight lipped. What I have heard is

that it has been slow. That pretty much follows early

ice reports from the Westside of past years. It seems

to get going a bit later.

More and more will venture out to the reefs and border

area and reports and success stories will be more plentiful

I didn't go out of Warroad but I did fish out of Rocky Point on Sat. The ice seemed to be good but nobody was driving vehicles yet out of Babblers. The water was very cloudy (like eveyone has said). I have never seen it so murky. You would drill the hole and get the slush out and the water looked black. The reports from that area were terrible. We got checked by the CO on Sat about 2 pm. He asked how many fish we had, we told him 2 (4 guys) and he told us we had bragging rights at the bar that night because he had only ran into one other person who had 1 fish. In the bar that night it was more of the same, nobody caught much. It was very slow fishing and it sounds like it will be until the water clears up. I am sure the change in weather didn't help us any.

Your going to find out on Mon. if you don't find a sled. Don't worry, the sandbar is only a 1 mi hike. Looks like everything is a go for the maiden voyage for the new house so hope you can swing it. GUT!!

Gutola!! Yes I plan on it! I'm thinking of heading up friday for a little cloudy water action!! I figure by friday they should be snap'n!! You plan'n on heading up sunday night den? Let me know so I can start cleaning house, making suppers, washing clothes etc...

Thanks Curty...yes I should know by now that the lips are pretty stiff around that area. I'm basically just wondering if they are driving out..but.. It wouldnt hurt for me to walk I suppose! he he
