I am interested in fishing this body of water, but I need some information before that is possible.

Where is the lake?

How do I get there?

Are there any springs to worry about?

Where should I fish?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I get there by taking 52 to 1 and going south a mile or so. Take the first main dirt road on the right and go 1/4 mile. You will see a gate and a trail on the left had side. It is about a 1/2 mile walk back into the lake. A lot of people fish by the dam. But the shoreline also seems to produce decent sunnies.

You can also park at the boyscout camp (correct me if I am worng) but I've heard this walk is a little tougher.

Only seen a few crappies, and they were 6 inches below the ice. It's a lot of fun when the fish are biting. Hard to fish 2 lines.

Hey Rugbyguy,

I just got back from school yesterday and went out there for a couple of hours. Start by heading SE on simpson road past Mayo highschool and Willowcreek middle school. You will go under 52, then you take a right on to 45th st which is a dirt road. You will see a tall fence on your left, most of the time alot of other cars will be thier to. This is the back entrance to the lake, much shorter of a walk. Alot of sunnies and crappies in this lake I usually stay to the shore on the right side, but you should be able to find fish almost anywhere along the shore, about 20-30 yards out. I am hoping to get out there Fri and Sat so let me know if you are heading out there.

Hooves,

You must have ran into some fish if your heading back out there. I'm don't need exact details or hotspots, but what kinda action might a guy see if he gets on that body of water. Species? Fish size? Numbers? Depth? Fun?

Hey Tyler,

I had alot of fish on tue. I caught about 25 sunnies, 3 crappie, and 1 perch. None of them were of great size only 5 or 6 keepers. But it is alot of fun going out there, you barly have time to get your lure to the bottom before another one is nibbling at it. I don't have anything to keep track of depth I usually just go to one of the shores start about 25 yards out and then head deeper if I am getting really small ones.

Thanks for the report Hooves. That sounds like something I might have to try...

Andy, If Sunday ends up working out for me to fish, this might be another option. I'd say I'm 75% sure I can fish after 2:00 on Sunday. This and/or Willow would be good options and both are right near my house.

Maybe I will see you guys out there then. I am gonna try to hit it hard this weekend. Probably try Boy Scout Camp on Sat.with the girlfriend and if it is good go back out on Sunday. Thanks Hooves for the tip on locating them out there, that's a great idea.

Tyler, I think I am going to head out to the lake in the morning as I need to be back in town early evening but I'll mark the hot spot for you so you can find fish smile.gif

Just thought I would give an update on Boyscout Camp. I was only out there for a few hours on Sat., but they were biting pretty steady. some little ones, some bigger ones, had to kind of weed through them. Did run into a few guys leaving that had their limits anyway. All in all it was fun!! They were biting on white jugs and waxies.
