Ice Roads

I am new to the Grand Rapids area. Do the resorts on Winnie plow roads when the ice gets thick enough. I am familiar with Mille Lacs and the resorts there. If so which resorts and what do they charge to use their roads? Thanks!

There are roads out of Nodak's, High Banks & Denny's for sure. I think it was 5 or 6 bucks a vehicle last year.

We use Nodak's every year - great maps, great advice. The other places mentioned also have good reputations.

I'm just guessing here, but I think you're the guy that bought my house in Faribault. If so, just look me up in the phone book and I can put you on a few hotspots

We go out of High Banks. The new owners are nice people and do a great job of keeping their roads up. If you are used to the surly resort owners on Mil Lacs, you will love dealing with these people. The resort owner attitude up there is much different than what you will be used to. i.e. they actually want you to catch fish, give you advice, and are happy to have your business. The folks on Mil Lacs, for the most part, are jerks for lack of a better term. All the resort owners on LOW and Winnie that I have run into are great people, not sure what the issue is for the Mil Lacs gang.
