Have never hunted late season before (hunted a little muzzleloader in the past). I have had only one good week all year, that was pre-rut when I was able to see alot of deer and able to shoot an 7 point buck. However I still have a doe tag. Problem is I can't find the deer. They seem to be spread out and thin in the area I hunt. The bedding areas I have been targeting seem to be holding no deer after the slug season. (they saw alot of preasure). My question is were should I be looking. There are no crops left in the area and all the fields are plowed over so very little food in the area. I have found some acorns but that has not produced yet. WHat other food sources do I need to be looking for. Deer have many areas to bed in the area I hunt, so I definatly need to find out what they are eating. There is a cow pasture i can hunt. Do you think that would be a good place to start? There is still grass to eat. Hope I don't have to wait for snow to find them, but am getting frustrated as I have not seen a deer in my last 5 outings. HELP!!!!!!

The only two places I've been seeing deer pretty consistently since firearms season are both alfalfa fields. Both pieces of cover they're coming to the fields from are relatively small. One is 20-25 acres of woods, the other is probably around 10 acres of willows. Both pieces were hunted during gun season, but not real hard. They both almost always seem to have deer this time of year. I haven't seen any bucks, at least that I could tell anyway, mostly they were fawns. I've seem them as early as 4:30 in the evenings.

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
