A Packer dedication thread

I just want to say thank you to the GB Packers for everything you have done for us Viking fans in 2005. First off, you let us spank you in the playoffs at Lambeau... priceless! Then you continue on and let us break your fans hearts with two last second FG's! A tribute!!!

Congrats on the Vikes for yet again handing it to the Packers in the second half. As for the off season all I can say is "screw Reggie Bush!!" What the Packers need to be concerned about this off season in the draft and free agency is to bring in some defensive players who play with a lot of heart. That was about the most gutless performance of a defense I saw last night by the Pack in the second half. Heck the game shouldn't even had been tied at the end, before the field goal. For some reason, the ref called a phantom hold call on the 20+yard run Moore had on the gaping hole of the Packers D-Line. Guess we'll have to relagate to the role of spoiler. Maybe we can pull out a win or two against the Bears to help you guys out.

Hey Buzzsaw. Send me your email address I got a good Viking one for you, but can't really post it on the site.

Thanks guys, I had fun putting it together.

Then the refs made another absolutely horrible call on the pass interference on Driver!! They showed that replay and Driver totally pushed off our d-back!! Both of those horsecrap calls set the packers up for the tying FG! Nice to be able to overcome those bad calls... they normally would crumble. Also, it was nice to hear both announcers say that holding call on Mewelede's 25 yard run was BAD!!!! amazing, they questioned the refs in the vikes favor... hmmmm it must be armageddon! grin.gif

Buzzsaw the officiating in Green Bay is often very much like the officiating in the shadows of "Touchdown Jesus" in South Bend, IN, but they like to call it "luck" there.

I'd say! I love it when a Bears fan can pile on in a Packers thread! grin.gif

Oh, I forgot one picture that will forever be engrained in my head... that was of the illustrious Mr. Favre about to cry at the end of the game last night....

Thats some funny shat right there, is it John Favre or Brett Madden?????? Im guessing as far as Madden has his nose glued to Bretts arse he gladly took his last name. Anyway, the beverages were good and the tenderloins even better, Im thihnking a few trades between the Bucks and the pack might help us out here.

FWIW, I am now pulling for the Packers to win a few games down the stretch...just so they don't have a shot at Reggie Bush. wink.gif If the Packers were to beat the Bears twice, well, so much the better.

And I thought that a dedication to their great season might inspire them to beat a way undermanned Eagle squad.... NOPE! Look out Houston, GB is on your heels for that #1 draft pick!!

Old Brett must not like his recievers very much. Every wr/te that has been hurt this year for GB got hurt going after a terrible brett Farve pass. Walker and Fergy were both leaping for overthrown balls and the Bubba pass was way left. My question is do packer fans actually think they can win with #4

I smell burnt toast grin.gif

The packers need to see what they can do in the fa market and see what they can mustard up. I enjoy the easy wins jk, but I would still rather have the Packers competing for the playoffs than the Bears.

As a Packers fan this year, I have grown particularily fond of having some adult beverages while just LISTENING to the television versus watching it, it seems to heal the pain a bit easier and its a great time to catch up on housework or dinner tongue.gif

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
