Ice up

Does anybody know about what time of year Big V ices up?Looking to come up over Thanksgiving for Muskies with the feed bag on.Thx

I have caught my limit of walleyes thru the ice on a few Thanksgivings and have also gotten them in open water during that time period on some years.

Freeze over all depends on how cold it gets.

If this weather pattern holds there just may be open water yet.

Cliff do you have a average week that V starts to ice up and is it the west end first and then Big Bay last.We will probably be fishing on the east end,Thx

Some of us who used to deer hunt on one of the islands used to find that second weekend you were usually breaking ice. Thanksgiving is most often too late for open water. You might get lucky but you better have a back up plan.....
