A couple of friends came up on the weekend from Grand Forks and we went out at Lockport at about 9:30 PM and finished at 3:30 AM, TIRED, not from lack of sleep but fighting kitties. We really lost count but it was diffently over 60 but more likely in the 70s. There was not another single boat out on the water. It is unbelievable with the way the fishing has been that there are NO fishermen. YOU ALL don't know what U are missing.

Day fishing will probably be slower but 60 kitties in 6 hrs is nothing to sneeze about. Oh yes, there were lots of smumo kitties. Oh well, all the more fishing for us guys.

I heard you had a great time, but I heard 70. Sounds like you guys had a great time on the water, glad to hear it. Just thought I'd say hi Canuck.

Greetings guy as well. Yes we did have a great time and for once I didn't have to guide and could actually fish myself. I held my own on Thursday nite but Sunday was another story. I started out OK and kept up with Durrick but poor Dokken had the stinky until all of a sudden he caught on fire and took off. I hate to admit it Durrick beat me and possibly Dokken but who cares it was fun.

I just can't figure it out that there are not more people out fishing for these kitties. We only have maybe 2 more months of this and they will shut down for the winter again.

Hey Canuck, my brothers and my dad and I are going up to lockport on thursday. Were you guys using goldeye? Have they started hitting frogs yet? Just looking for a little info. We'll be staying at cats on the red until sunday.

Goldeye have been the ticket so far. The floodway was stiring up the bottom and alittle harder to get the goldeye but by Thursday they should be hitting again. I personally do NOT know if they are hitting frogs yet but if U have some I sure would give them a try. When U come across the border make sure they are dead (frozen).

I am NOT a shrimp fan but used them the other nite and they worked so they can also be a back up. The curtains are still NOT in so lots of flow. 6 oz has to be used in the main channel.

We are doing a corp thing on Friday morning so will see U out there. I am in an 18 ft Lund Alaskan (60 Mercury) consul drive. Give a yell.

First open water fishing this morning. Planed to go to Clearwater but water was 6 inches over docks. Drove over to Sylvia/Twin and access was great. Water very clear, could see bottom in more than 12 ft.  Caught several sunfish and bass. 2 northerns and a crappie. Most went back including a 9.5 in male sunny. Beautiful fish. Most caught in less than 3 ft water.  Temp was 61.

We are high up on the hill so no worry of water damage, but our electrical box wasn't too far from the rising lake water. I hope that issue doesn't start hitting others as well!

I was up for opening weekend, but only fished Saturday morning. I had a limit by 6:30 so headed back to the cabin to get work done. In about an hour I lost 2 on the way to the boat, boated a 13" that I threw back, and kept a 14, 15, 16, 17. Nice size eaters. Jig and minnow in 15-20 FOW.  Water temps where I was fishing was 41.    I have damage to 2 docks and several trees down. I hope this water level goes down soon! Good luck everyone.

Opener was decent on Saturday and absolutely on fire Sunday. 9 eyes, three over 25 in, one at 28.5. A bunch of largemouths, some crappie and perch and a TON of bullhead. One of those weekends where your hands start to hurt.

I'm quite happy since I'm going fishing with a pal for the first time in a long time. We plan to purchase some clothing for it, such as exclusive hoodies.

The majority of docks can't be put it. Water is over the top of pretty much every permanent dock.  Very few docks are in.

Crappies are all up shallow in the south metro. Caught this one shore fishing with a beetle spin from a more secluded lake without much access. All of the crappies were between 7-9 inches with this 11.5" being the exception
