Just got the news we drew a tag for zone 32 nw of ely, just wondering were to get any info on some good spots to start looking for a couple of moose to chase around. Thanks for any help.

First call should be to Tom Rusch, area wildlife supervisor for the DNR in Tower (218) 753-2580. I've talked with him quite a bit about big game up here.

Tom also spends a LOT of time in the woods. He's the guy when it comes to moose and deer and bear and that. There are plenty of resources the DNR has to put you close to moosy areas, including maps and other info on where the populations tend to concentrate. Remember, the DNR WANTS you to fill your tag, and Tom will help you out. I've found those folks very helpful. With the moose deal being once in a lifetime, that also means they'll want you to have a good experience.
