Weekend Outlook

Hey all. Who will be out this weekend? I am on my way up and will be fishing thursday thru sunday. I hope the weather says a bit cooler! Wondering anyone using crawlers or is it all a leech and 50"-60" rig with red hook? I'm sure most action is focusing on the edge of bars in the middle of the lake. Anyone have there marine band on any specific channel so we can compare tatics? Capt. Ron will you be out guiding this weekend? I am already excited!

Thanks,

Eric

One question about leeches...Does anyone have a preference on size? Are jumbo's the way to go, or regular large leeches? Thanks for the time and advice.

I was up over the 4th weekend and by far medium and large beat out jumbos. I'll be up a week from saturday and i'll be going with large.

Anyone notice any preference for time of day on Winnie. Is there a night bite or a crankbait bite?

Did my own exploring on Sunday afternoon and trolled some shoreline breaks near Ravens point. Caught 5 'eyes with two very nice 22" and 23" fish. Also got three eaters and about 10 pike. Free fishing tip, never try to land a thrashing pike with treble hooks dangling from his jaw by hand. Trolling on Winnie is an excellent way to explore the structure, locate some fish, and find those spots worth a more intensive effort.

you can get to horseshoe by boat but not far enough to get any fish yet.   This may change in the next few days.   I plan on ice fishing on shoe today.   Should be able to land a nice amount of slabs.   Don

Drove by Elysian on my way home this afternoon. Shoreline didn’t appear to be pulling away, view from the highway for what it’s worth.

Got the property surveyed today. Originally plotted back in 1968 and sure enough there where metal pipes marking 3 of the corners but who knows how long it would have taken me to find them. They placed a monument on the missing corner. Hopefully this warm weather sticks around, need to remove some trees and get the wheel house moved in. Thanks everyone for your responses!

Was out on the lake today. Easy 24-26" inches of hard ice yet.

Drove around the entire lake today. From the road it looks like the warm weather has melted most of the snow. Only saw about a half dozen people fishing. Ice isn’t pulling away from shore yet. Stopped at the Borden access and walked out a bit, kicked myself for not bringing the fishing equipment, easy travel out there.

interesting day fishing on 30 inches and 60 degrees out   no monsters but got a very round hybrid and some rock bass with neat eyes.

Plastic PC is 3/4 x2 x3.5. Drilled shallow holes on the transom side for the adhesive to cling to. Pretty solid. Time will tell

No shutoff needed. Take a photo of how you mounted your transducer Alex.
