The temps the past few days has been hot, but the walleye fishing on Blackduck Lake the past few days has been pretty spotty, they're showing up on the scanner but not biting real hot. A few walleyes are being picked up in the 10-20' depths along the bars, doing a slow drift with plain hooks or little joes (chartreuese) tipped with a crawler, and a late afternoon bite being a little better than evening. They had a tourny on Blackduck Saturday afternoon with 50 boats in the contest, but didn't hear the results. But the anglers have managed to reel in some perch and a few pike and even a couple of those hard to find Blackduck jumbo sunfish; and I watched one young angler having a blast reeling in one small perch after another while fishing off the dock (getting in his fishing skills).

Walleye fishing on Gull has also been slow the past week, but the muskie bite is picking up well on Cass Lake and Big Lake for those fishing around the weedbeds. Haven't heard any recent reports on Island or Round Lake...anyone out there hitting those lakes having any luck?

The panfish bite has been going good at several of the lakes along the scenic highway..a lot of great lakes to try along there. While Upper Red Lake's crappie fishing is slow (but a few are being picked up at the cribs), the northern pike action is starting to kick in, with one group doing catch and release of pike ranging 38"-42" a couple of days ago.

Woodman~Good luck to you and Tiff on your fishing trip to Blackduck tomorrow...Happy Anniversary!

Drake- Thanks, and I will post the results when we return home. We will try our lucky bar to start out with then it will be some scouting time again. We want to find some more honey holes so we have a couple of spots to fish. The secret bar that you guys told us about has been our go to place for the last 5 years and has been really productive. cool.gif

Hope all is well with you guys, and talk at ya later.

Well the annual Anniversary Fishing Trip to Blackduck Lake was a great time as always. The fishing was a little slow, but we did manage to land 4 eyes, 6 perch, and of course Tiff's 8 lbs sheep head. You can not go to BlackDuck Lake and not catch one of these! grin.gif

The fish were bitting on the light side yesterday. frown.gif

We ended up bobber fishing in 11 ft with leeches. They were sucking on the leeches so bad that you had to watch your bobber at all times. They would take it down about an inch and sit there with it. We would reel in and when we felt them chomp we would set the hook. We missed lots of fish, and had a couple of nice fish let loose.

We fished from 3-6:30 pm.

Heading up to crane Lake area. How are conditions and any tips / pointers?

Yes indeed. We actually bought it together. We wedged the pontoon boat into that lift last fall and hoisted it out of the water. Unfortunately the water came up so much this spring, the pontoon couldn't float with the rising levels. There wasn't much that we could do opening weekend except wait for the water to drop and then assess the damage. It's mainly a garbage hauler so no big loss for a $500 boat/motor.

I forgot to post this but I got a jake during season B north of Princeton on some private land.  I had been hunting this flock of birds for 3 seasons now.  I hear and/or see them every day, but simply could not get a legal bearded turkey to come within range.  Finally, a hen came walking out with a jake and I dusted the jake on the 4th day of my hunt.  There's plenty of birds there, including several mature toms, so I intend to keep hunting there in the future as long as I can obtain permission.  The weather was downright terrible.  I had one nice morning of sunshine and then it was windy, rainy, and raw for days.  Saturday morning even produced a heavy summer-type down pour.  I was so thankful to be hunting in a blind.  I also saw a fair amount of other wildlife in four days, including deer, pheasants, a pair of raccoons, and a coyote.

I have questions about the following hypothetical. Buy used boat and trailer from Iowa Resident. Would need to transfer, and I have not done before. Duck boat, may occasionally fish out of it. Technically 15'11 1/2" long. Will have motor. Do I need a title? Does it need registration?   Same for trailer. Need a title? Need Registration? License Plate?   Thank you for any help.

I realize it's only been 2 days Raven77, but are you continuing to see the level decreasing?

Sight fished this one, also got a 19" off a bed with a senko but didn't get a picture because my phone died. Length was 14" for the one in the photo. Haven't been able to get out much recently, but I should be able to go Saturday.
