To my knowledge you have to by the Canadian license in Canada. Cross the bridge and go to the Can Op in Ft. Francis.

You can get directions from the Canadian customs rep. at the border. If they are available in the Falls I would like to know were too.

Ontario licenses are available only in Ontario. I don't know if there's an online option but a quick look at their website didn't show anything. Their regs are available online.

There are bait/tackle shops on both east and west ends of Ft. Frances that sell licenses. And if you miss the one going east, there's another a few km out of town going east.

Just wanted to let you know that you can get your Canadian fishing license with a simple phone call. I get my Ontario fishing license every year by calling the Ministry of Natural Resources. The only negative to doing it this way is that it takes several weeks before you receive the license by mail so it may be too late for you to do it this year. We stay at the Island View Lodge every year and it is much more convenient to already have your Canadian license when you arrive at Rainy Lake. The phone number is 1-800-667-1940.

Good fishing,
