northerns?????

is there any lakes in the area where a person could catch some good sized pike??
if so, what lakes, and what kind of lures should i use?

I am not quite sure where you are but vermillion always has some nice northern. I have also been told pelican is loaded with them.

My buddy who is big into northern fishing said he does best on a lure called a thunderstick. They are kinda hard to find, but if you do I would reccomend one 4 to 6 inches colored like a perch.

I live in nebraska for the last 2 years, but have lived in duluth for the 22 prior years.. i like the lakes with real thick weeds that reach the surface.. you know what im talking about.. I have found a new and extremely effective way to catch these fish..
( new to me )
i used to fish them with a bobber and minnow or a rapalla. the normal way...

But one day i was getting bored of just sitting there, so i put one of my bass fishin lures on and casted into the tickest weeds i could find, where most people wouldnt attempt to go.. let me tell you.. i destryed them.. sinse then 2 years ago, i have never fished any other way. extremely productive..

I would like to meet up with some of you some time to make a day of pike fishing..
I think it could be quite fun...

Hey mr expert,
Your advice sucks on northerns. Kid try pink lures and troll about 30 foot deep along the walls. YOu will rock on both smallies and northern. Huge northern.

I am looking for advice, so no advice sucks..
if you have a better way to catch big northen then good for you. but im sure that ely lake expert's advice works..
