I will be making my first trip to the boundary waters in late june and i will be entering on the south kawishiwi river (point32) I am thinking of fishing the river, gabbro and maybe bald eagle. Does anyone have any information on how to fish these lakes and which lakes in the area are best. Thanks

i have only fished gabbro and bald eagle and the only place iv had any luck at all for walleyes was the chanel between the two lakes and they were small. we also caught some nice northerns on gabbro. i too would like to know some better spots on these two lakes.

I have fished in that area several times and one of my favorite walleye 'holes' is on the Kawishiwi River.

The campsite 1/2 way down the river, just south of the rapids is a good site. And fish right after the rapids. In June use a Lindy Rig and a leech. Throw it right where the river starts to 'Vee'. I have caught nice walleyes there.
