outwardbound or under water bound?

thought i'd pass this on. a group of outward bound people crossed birch lake at mid-day yesterday! they were on skis from the reports i heard. anyway, the authorities including the rescue squad were notified. even the daringest fishermen i know would have hesitated on this one.!! the ice may even go out tonite!! they made it i guess. i'm not to sure i would send my child to that school... would you?

Don't pretend to understand some of the things I've seen them do over the years, but have generally ascribed some of the more asinine activities to just plain ignorance. The lake crossing doesn't surprise me, but folks should be made aware going in that they may be asked to take unecessary risks and suffer avoidable hardship.
Spring ice is no playground, as any beaver trapper will attest. Even with experience, precautions and a healthy dose of fear and caution, accidents can and do happen.
