Question
fish-n-geek
Thinking about replacing the homemade pontoon trailer with a new (or new"er") commercial trailer. I don't see myself hauling this boat farther than an hour or two one-way. Are tandem axle scissor style trailers fairly stable? I'm questioning an under-pontoon trailer, thinking they might not work as well at some of the shallow landings I use.
Cost is also a consideration. I can get a new tandem scissor trailer for $1250. I'm having a hard time finding *anything* used, so I don't know what they would cost. Same dealer said the float-on that they sell runs about twice the cost of the scissor.
Takes?
Thanks!
