Great to see someone living up in AK. I lived in Homer for about four months a couple years back and have been dying to return. I am recently gratuated from college and was curious what the job seen may be like now. B.S. in Environmental Studies w\ a soil\water emphasis. Too bad there's not good walleye fishin in AK, or are there a few spots?

Hey Buddy...I travel to Homer and fish for Halibut alot. I use to work fisheries and live in Kasilof, AK just South of Kenai. I miss Crappie fishing everyday. Being from Hibbing, MN originally I come back every winter to fish for walleye, Crappie and Lake trout for a month. I worked for the state in MN, now work for the Gov't up here and now I am going to be taking a fisheries research job in the private sector. I really enjoy working in Alaska and recruit for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. I am currently still attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks and taking some graduate classes while completing my B.S. I have a lot of fisheries experience from guiding, to working fisheries in MN and AK. If you are interested in a job the deadline for Gov't hiring is December 15th and if you email me your address I will get a federal application and a job announcement to you for a seasonal Fisheries Technician position here in Alaska. If you have a Bachelor's the Gov't up here will classify you as a GS-5 and pay you 15+ per hour. Free food, COLA cost of living allowance which is 25% of your pay, lots of perks.
