I am planning a trip upto the Boundary waters next June. I have been up there once before, and we went in North of the Echo Trail, or around Shell Lake and north or there. But, what I am looking for is a spot to go that my have good walleye fishing in mid June. Thanks for any suggestions!!

mnwild14,

Your question is not an easy one to answer in that during that time of year, there are tons of great walleye holes. Any place with current will have walleyes....try the kawishwi river (North or South)or basswood, but during that time of year, the walleyes should be easy to locate. Relatively.

Good walleye lakes, usually, in June;

Alice Lake
Gabbro Lake
Ensign Lake
Jackfish Lake
Pipestone Lake
Heritage Lake
Horse Lake
Horseshoe Lake
Fall Lake
White Iron Lake
Isabella Lake

and more.......

Would anyone also now if there are any Lake Trout lakes in this same area. I noticed most of the lakes mentioned are to the East of Ely.

I spent four days on Crooked Lake this past June and did very well for Walleyes. I would suggest you get an RABC (remote area border crossing) permit, and that you fish Canadian water if you go there. If you have questions on getting the RABC permit...give us a call.
