bigeyes,

Sorry, I have not been up in a couple weeks. All I've heard is that the bobber bite is still the most reliable. Please send a report when you get back.

I was up last night out of Malmo. Big bug hatch of some kind again. This is one crazy year, that's all I can say. The last week of July with a bug hatch? Anyhow, we didn't pull any eyes last night which dissapointed me! We did great the weekend before, I though with the full moon and all we should have done good. Go figure! That's Mille Lacs!

Good Luck Guys

Well another evening run and another goose egg for me Yikes! There are a few boats fishing the gravel, but most are set up on 3 mile, and 2 mile, and the flats are a ghost town other than a couple people on boot and 7 mile. At night some stayed at 3 mile while the majority were stacked up pretty think off big point. I can vouch for nothing doing on the big point area after dark.

I can also vouch for the big pond doing nothing this past weekend. I fished a bunch of flats from 3-10pm on Saturday and got one 9 inch walleye. ouch

oh yea, the day bite was terrible for walleye, wind didn't seem to help much either. if you want eyes sleep during the day, and hit eyes at night.

I found the walleyes, think fall and you will catch plenty of fish.

Pulling cranks at night in shallow like 6-8 feet. The fish are there and most are in the slot. Good fishing! I had the best luck with a red and firetiger husky jerks.

Roster-Hmmm I do most of my fishing at night, and at 6-8 feet you must be on rocks or else it would be too thick with weeds. Well problem is the all my shallow rock piles are absolutely choked with smallies and rockies, are you catching a lot of these? We can't keep them off, but not one walleye in the mix. You are over by St. Alb's right? So are you getting your fish from Brown's point, Myr Mar reefs complex or Indian pt?

Got 4, missed 3 Saturday night. 12' of water over rocks (Graveyard) on the southeast end. Wind was big time out of the south Saturday night so we tried to stay a little protected. Leeches under bobbers 'til about midnight. The wind died down and so did the bite. Funny how soft the bite was. Bobber would go down and then just sit in place. After missing a couple we figured out to count to 30 until feeling for the weight and setting the hook.
Sent the Aquavu down during a lull to check out the bottom. You shoulda seen the crayfish! No matter which way we pointed or where we moved, dozens in the camera view. Whodathunkit....

Bigeyes- dident catch a single rockbass or smallie, I wont tell you were I fished but Indian point, shermans point, browns, seguchie point, myr-mar reef, garrison reef all produce fish trolling at night.

Caught only one 24" on friday, August 6. Plenty of perch, smallmouth and rock bass. Mainly slip bobbered. Rather windy for trolling cranks. Fished from 7:30 to 12:30.

The best time to troll cranks is when its real windy, I have had some of my best nights when theres 3-4 footers on the lake. So windy that if it was in the daytime and we could se how big the waves were we wouldent have went out.
