Which line do most of those who fish Mille Lacs use? Which brand, color, pound test?

Thank You,

Joe

Stren Magna thin, 4 or 6 lb test, walleye green. Berkley Sensation, 4 or 6# test, photochrome.

For slip-bobber fishing, I like Berkeley XL, 6lb. For dragging cranks, I like Fireline, and for harnesses I like Vanish.

What knot due you use with Berkley Vanish? I tryed the Trilene knot and have had it come loose at times.

Thanks!!

I use the Palomar knot on Vanish (actually for most all knots I tie). From my experience, it is essential to moisten the knot before pulling it tight with Vanish line.

Polmar knot works great, and as the post said above, it is cruical to moisten the line before pulling it tight. I like this know because it can be done very easily in a boat, and works great for Vanish, which is the line I use for snells.

Fireline for pulling cranks...also I can use the polmar knot.

My two cents...Thanks.

What pound test Berkley Vanish would be best for leaders? Live bait rigging.

6# test is the heavest I would use. I personally use 4# Trilene green for my snells, 6# Trilene green for my main line. I know 4# seems light but with your drag set properly I have never broken off on a fish. This includes many fish over 28" When live bait rigging I like to use the lightest line I can get away with.
