Beyond the flats?

Has anyone spent any time out off the flats in the great beyond? Was at LOW last weekend for the first time and that seemed to be where the roaming walleyes are. Any Mille Lacs bites out there?

Last weekend I actually had my best luck in the main basin. The basins are loaded with YOY perch and the walleyes aren't too far behind. I feel the reefs and flats get too much pressure for consistant action...although I like to remain close.

I'm thinking of trying to work off 3 mile or 8 mile, have you tried it out there? How far off the flats did you go? Move around a lot?

fs13, fished the sliver flat last sat (24th), tons of small perch - caught 2 jumbo's, 4 small walleyes and one 17 1/2 incher - fished from 7:00 am to about 2:00 pm - fished on top and off both east and west edges so pretty slow going - then drove back to 3 mile and fished there for about 45 mins...got driven off by all the small perch. I think maybe just wondering off where there's no structure might be the ticket...can't be any worse than where I've tried anyway. Good Luck!!
