lardo- I'm heading up to Brandt's tonight. We've had pretty good luck up there in the past. I've been hearing good things about sloppy joe's, although it's been kinda slow. They might have a road open to 4 or 5 mile...I guess I'll see this weekend. Sounds like I will be making a trip to Brainerd for the contest. I'll let you know how we do.

Well, the fishing was slow this weekend. We had eight guys up there and we caught one 3# pout Sat. at 4am. Man what a mess! It wrapped up everyone lines. Wasn't too happy about re-tying at that time of day. The shacks are in a pretty cood location. Brandt's have 6 shacks on the east side of sloppy's and 3 on the west side. The fish were there, but due to the weather they weren't responsive. We also caught dozens of little 3" perch on waxies and another puny-pout. I talked to the gal at the front desk and she said she hadn't heard much from the other shacks. All in all, it was a good trip. I hope the fishing picks up for you this week lardo. I still don't know the status of 4 or 5 mile...could be worth looking into. Keep me posted.

The roads were good. They had plows out for us on Sun. morning after a bunch of snow blew in on Sat. There are no bridges, but I think they are going to need on if they go to 4 or 5 mile. To me it looked like there was a pretty good heave in that direction, but I didn't check it out.
