Anyone Been Out of Myr Mar

Leaky

Recommended Posts

My house will finally get out this week. Anyone been fishing out of Myr Mar? I'll be fishing solo in a silver converted 24' travel trailer that says "Home of Champions" on the side. Black Blazer parked by the house. Exactly 1 mile out, behind the rocks. Stop in for a cold one if anyone is around there this weekend.

Hope we get some snow to bank the darn thing in.

Jim

Leaky-
I will be up there this weekend as well. Do you know the ice conditions? Do you expect to drive out from Myr Mar? Just checking cause that is my plan as well. Good luck on the eyes.

Regarding the banking issue...as I was driving up last weekend to the pond, I saw hay bales for sale...if a guy really need some banking(like one did last weekend)those might work, right?

You can drive out of Myr Mar.

Hay bales would freeze into the ice after time and that would be a mess to get out. Park your house next to a big drift and you will have plenty of snow to bank your house. We have been doing it all year.

jjr - As Scott said, they are driving. If you see my blazer by the house, stop by. I should be up there Friday afternoon for the early evening bite and all day Saturday.

Makes sense now that you spelled it out for me. Thanks Scott. You probably prevented one heck of a mess involving one of my hair-brained ideas.

There aren't that many drifts on the lake. Where you find a drift might not be where the fish are. Pick up the bale and bring it. Is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Good point Whack. From what I could see from there last Sunday, doesn't look like a lot of drifts out there. I'm sitting a foot off the ice, and it sucks to have no wind protection, other than the plastic tubes I can stick down the hole. Can always pull the bales in at the end of the day. I'm hoping it's only a temporary solution.
