Taking all things into consideration, which of the following dates would be the best?

September 10,11,12,13,14th or October 6,7,8,9,10th ?
Will be staying at Fisher's Resort.
Thanks!

Joe

I'd take the October dates if you don't mind night fishing.

September is good too. The shallow water night time bite just keeps getting better.

The daytime bite isn't to shabby either.

Derek, when you spoke of predictable, were you speaking of the bite, weather, etc.?

Thanks

Joe

I agree. Go for the October dates FOR SURE. Your October dates run up to a full moon and that historically is magic on Mille Lacs. I HIGHLY recommend pulling cranks at night over that time period. Even if the fishing is unusually slow for that time of year, you will at least pull in a couple hogs.

One other thing, you will have eliminated other boats fishing your water simply because hunting season will be in full swing, if you take the October dates.

Another vote for October. And if were lucky again, November is really good too. You just have to slow it down. We were out until November 19th last year. October actually got too cold too fast and dropped the water temps past prime in a couple days. We had better action in early November. Caught a few even during the day in overcast weather and a little snow mixed in! Dress warm and you won't be dissapointed. Boat traffic is all but gone.
