cove bay

how hase the fishing been in cove bay, coming up next weekend and was wondering how the walleye and northern bite has been.

just got a new lake place in the family this last weekend on cove. spent way more time moving then fishing but did get some muskie fishing in. no pike, no muskie, but we did get one 27in eye on a bucktail in 7ft over cabbage mid-day. explain that one and i will be impressed.

Large older Walleyes that are in their last stages in life, will take cover in the weeds to find easy prey.

sounds right to me. fish did look very old - had many sores on her back - also had been cought before. many scares around the mouth. maybe black bucktails with black blades over weed beds is the new mille lacs walleye hot spot/bait. haha
