Trade Rumors/Cures that Ail Wolves

Wolves are now .500. ESPN was talking about a Suns-Heat Finals.

Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on trades or other cures to put Minny back in the driver's seat.

I like Kidd or Baron Davis if we could get rid of Spree or Cassell, even Kandi. The only attractive thing about those guys is their expiring or soon to expire contracts.

Teams are killing us with our soft perimeter defense. We can't stop anybody. Orlando beat us tonight even though Garnett went off for a 20-20. We need some young legs at the guard spot. A center, just a body in the middle would be nice. Anyone that's a little less of a stiff than Erv or Kandi.

Penny for your thoughts....

Im am personally very disapointed in this team.

It is still early though. And I still have faith that KG will get this thing together.

question??

at what point does it become a coaching problem? Im not saying that it is yet. I actually like flip a lot. There is a lot of talent on this team and it seams that management may be at fault. Maybe??

I keep hearing the name Jason Kidd--I would love to see them pull this off--but really doubt that it will happen!

I'd take Baron Davis over Kidd any day....but then again, both are veterans and don't know how much long they will be effective on the court.

We don't need another Sam Cassell to deal with.

I'm sorry Cap' but Baron Davis is another Cassell. Baron is injury prone and doesn't have much value in my opinion. What is with the Wolves picking up expired PG's? Brandon, guy that played for Portland goatee can't think of his name, and Cassell. They missed the boat when they let james "HOLLYWOOD" Robinson go! smile.gif

Davis and Cassell 2 of the same! Hollywood Robinson , I think the wolves missed the boat when they let SAM "I am" Mitchell go laugh.gif

I also agree we need some younger legs. I could emagine the team if we could have gotten Le Bron James.

Has anyone else heard of a J. Kidd to the Wolves rumor? Not sure if it is legit. Let me know what you got. Sounds like he wants out of Jersey pretty bad. Can't say I blame him.

Rumors are all it is, the Wolves are still hurting from the sanctions from the Joe Smith debaucle, 5 years without a first round pick? No team can compete without making trades, for older players, it's a tough situation. I think this year we get our first 1st round pick, let's make it count.

Although I would like to see Kidd here, but who do we trade, Wally is the only one with trade value, can't trade one of the best shooters in the leauge away? That's why I don't think it will happen, not sure anything will happen, Sprewell and Cassel are not worth there salaries, therefore trade value is low and we wouldn't get the caliber player needed to make a trade. But who knows. Should be a fun game to watch tonight, LeBron and KG.

I don't know. I think if you get ANYTHING for Spree or Cassell you are ahead of the game. They are cancers and eliminating them for even a CBA guy would be OK with me. There is no doubt the attitude of these jerks is the problem with the Wolves. Flip got the shaft on this deal.

I do not disagree, N.J won't give up Kidd for Sprewell and Cassel, and I do agree that Cassel and Sprewell in particular are cancers and need to go, and we do need a point guard other than Hudson, (I like him less and less each time I watch), I hope they do something, I just hope it doesn't involve Wally.

T-Hud is more interested in a record deal and lookin' good in dreadlocks then he is dribbling between a double team and going in for a layup.

I don't think the wolves have anything worth trading around, especially after a lot of BIG trades happened today. I think the only team that wasn't involved with a trade today was our team.

SHOULD have dumped Cassell and Spree earlier in the year or even before the season started!

Just read that Gary Payton is no longer an Atlanta Hawk...that means he is a free agent!

HEY McHale- did you hear that......GARY PAYTON IS A FREE AGENT!!

There is no way Payton will come here. It's almost a given he's going to resign with Boston since that's where his family is.

Man, did the timberpups (yea, time to bring that out again) stink up the Target Center or what last night. Just plain horrible.

Yeah, I had the misfortune of being at the game last night, 2 field goals in the first 7 minutes of the 4th quarter, how pathetic is that. Garnett was awesome as usual, but Sprewell and Wally were ice cold in the 4th quarter. It was bad indeed,

I've seen just about all I can take of the wolves this year. They are pathetic!! Can't wait until after the season when they start choppin heads. We need to get some of these old geesers out of here and bring in some youth, speed, and mostly, players with brains.(Hudson mad.gif)

Can't believe they could go from great last year to getting beat at home to any slumping team that enters the Target center. frown.gif

I'm not there, so I can't tell exactly what's going on but it looks like a large area of open water developed in the last day with all of the heavy snow on the east side of wake em up Narrows. These two photos are from my Ring Camera facing north towards Niles Point.  You can see what happened with all of snow that fell in the last three days, though the open water could have been wind driven. Hard to say. .

Black Bay had great ice before but a few spots near rockpiles where there were spots of open water. It looks like the weight of the snow has created a little lake in the middle of the bay.

On the south end...   Thanks to some cold spring weather, ice fishing continues strong for those still ice fishing.  The bite remains very good.  Most resorts have pulled their fish houses off for the year, however, some still have fish houses out and others are allowing ATV and side by sides.  Check social media or call ahead to your favorite resort for specifics. Reports this week for walleyes and saugers remain excellent.   A nice mix of jumbo perch, pike, eelpout, and an occasional crappie, tullibee or sturgeon being reported by anglers. Jigging one line and using a live minnow on the second line is the way to go.  Green, glow red, pink and gold were good colors this week.     Monster pike are on a tear!  Good number of pike, some reaching over 45 inches long, being caught using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring in 8 - 14' of water.   As always, work through a resort or outfitter for ice road conditions.  Safety first always. Fish houses are allowed on the ice through March 31st, the walleye / sauger season goes through April 14th and the pike season never ends. On the Rainy River...  The river is opened up along the Nelson Park boat ramp in Birchdale, the Frontier boat ramp and Vidas boat ramp.  This past week, much of the open water skimmed over with the single digit overnight temps.   Areas of the river have popped open again and with temps getting warmer, things are shaping up for the last stretch through the rest of the spring season, which continues through April 14th.   Very good numbers of walleyes are in the river.  Reports this week, even with fewer anglers, have been good.  When temps warm up and the sun shines, things will fire up again.   Jigs with brightly colored plastics or jigs with a frozen emerald shiner have been the desired bait on the river.  Don't overlook slow trolling crankbaits upstream as well.   Good reports of sturgeon being caught on the river as well.  Sturgeon put the feed bag on in the spring.  The bite has been very good.  Most are using a sturgeon rig with a circle hook loaded with crawlers or crawlers / frozen emerald shiners. Up at the NW Angle...  Ice fishing is winding down up at the Angle.  Walleyes, saugers, and a number of various species in the mix again this week.  The bite is still very good with good numbers of fish.  The one two punch of jigging one line and deadsticking the second line is working well.   Check with Angle resorts on transport options from Young's Bay.  Call ahead for ice road guidelines.

With the drifting, kind of hard to tell for sure, but I'm guessing about a foot and still lightly snowing. Cook end!

How much snow did you get on Vermilion?
    • Mike89
lake here refroze too...  started opening again yesterday with the wet snow and wind...  very little ice left today...
    • Hookmaster
A friend who has a cabin between Alex and Fergus said the lake he's on refroze. He texted me a pic from March 12th when it was open and one from 23rd when it wasn't. 🤯
    • SkunkedAgain
I don't think that there has been any ice melt in the past few weeks on Vermilion. Things looked like a record and then Mother Nature swept in again.   I'll give my revised guess of April 21st

As I get older it's really not just about sending bullets down range.  Some of it's just the workmanship of the gun and the wow factor. The other two guns I have really wanted which I'll never have now because of their price, is a 8mm Jap Nambu and 9mm German Luger.   Just thought they always looked cool!

I had a guy hit me with a lightly used 1969 BAR, he wanted $1650 with an older Leupold scope. More than I think they are worth, I made an offer, he declined end of story.   You know if you look at the old brochures, a grade II BAR sold for $250 in the late 60s, $1650 would be a good return on your investment.    Why would anybody want a 50 year old gun, they are heavy, have wood stocks, and blued metal.  I guess mainly to keep their gun safes glued to the floor. lol   You can probably buy a stainless rifle that you never have to clean, with a synthetic stock you never have to refinish, is as light as a feather, and for half as much money, perfect.   I'm too old for a youth gun, although I've shrunk enough that it would probably fit. lol   No Ruger 10/44s.   Jim
