I caught my biggest waldo ever on Mille Lacs. It was 24" and about 5lbs. How old would this fish be? I'm just guessing but 10 years?

Curious,

My guess would be more in the 6-8 year range.

Keep fishing the lake if you want big ones...they will suddenly happen. I hadn't caught anything bigger than 25" up until the start of last summer. Since then I have caught 14 fish over 26" and 5 of them have come from Mille Lacs, including my personal biggest which was 28.25" but it was too bad it only weighed 6lbs because it was starving last summer!

I'm more of a bass fisherman than waldos, so we tend to go after both. But I would like to try going for waldos for a whole weekend to see if I can break my personal best.

6-8 years huh. Cool, they grow a little faster than I assumed.

Thanks Grabs,

PS My brother said he knows you.

Out of Mille Lacs I would say 6 years old. Growth in Mille Lacs is pretty good.
