Anyone seen any carp in the shallows yet? Care to share where? I am planning to come up this weekend to fish for my favorite species(no I am not joking). Thanks in advance, Jason Kerkow

not sure what the water temp is in the shallows up there, but it could be a bit early for the spawn on mille lacs... should be pretty soon though.. they are in prime spawn in the metro right now... I would think over on the SW where the rum comes in is where they will be...

In St. Albans Bay, there is a creek that flows in about 1/4 mile south of Pike Point (the northern of the two points on either end of the bay). Best after a rain when the water is really flowing. There are almost always carp there in the spring when its flowing well - often BIG. If you end up there after dark, try casting a rainbow floating rapala very shallow 1-2ft you may still be able to pick up a walleye or two, though it is getting a little late in the year for that, but I did well early on with this setup.
