URL questions: hotel or sleeper? And which month?

Hey folks,

4 of us are trying to decide between a trip to URL or LOTW. We are either going to rent a sleeper, or rent hotel rooms and use portables.

Timewise, where's the nearest hotel to URL?

Has anyone rented sleepers on URL and if so can you give some info on them?

And which time of winter generally yields the most consistent bite?
