Smith Lake in Nelson,MN

Has anybody been on Smith Lake checking the Ice thickness and or fishing reports??

Which Smith Lake?? If it is the one closest to Nelson, you have to be careful as there are springs all over in that lake!

That is the one Mr. Goodwrench I am aware of the springs in that lake. So depending on which side of the lake you are going to fish you need to enter it from that side. Not straight across the lake where you could hit a spring. Thanks for the reply. Have you been out there lately??

No I have not been out there since last year, but may be going there soon to check out the hole for crappies. We'll see what the weather is like for sunday as it sounds like it may be a windy one out there tomorrow???????

Indeed it was. There was 2 houses on the lake I think and as soon as we got past that point, someone had to be in the fishhouse at all times or it would go flying across the lake. Better luck next time.....
