Any trucks out on the lake yet. What about snowmobile traffic?? How much snow on the ice? Sorry but im on afternoons this week hard for me to take the 20 minute drive over there and see for myself. Am shooting for sat. to zip around a little bit (by snowmo). Thanks.

This may not be as current as you are looking for, but we were out on Sat. and there was only about 5 inches of ice. I don't think trucks are gonna be out there for a while. The sled and wheeler were out there tho.

No trucks yet. But I pulled my permanent house out on Saturday with my snomobile no problem. Ran around a little Sunday and there was about 6 inches of snow on about 4-5 inches of ice. Last couple days helped I'm sure. Should be good to run the lake with snowmobile now. Pretty nice actually, no plowed roads yet!!

MJR,

I hope to get out in that area tomorrow to check ice conditions and maybe fish a couple of hours.

I heard rumors that a couple of atv's had gone out there.

I'll post tomorrow if I get out.

Sat we were out of Mckinley and there was about 5 inches of ice. I am sure with the cold temps it should be a bit more by now.

Thanks for the posts, after the few days of cold i expected there would be a bit more. 6 inches of snow on ice sounds good. hey up-north heres a picture on the snowmobile trail just east of Chisholm on the big hill

Nice pic. Must have been yesterday, it was pretty nice out there. The lake is a little wind whipped after Sunday wind but still good snow for riding. Yes I am on the West end no word on the McKinley besides what has been posted. Headed to Tower tonight for the meeting so might hear something there.

Went out of Mckinly from Fri-Sun there was 5 1/2" out a little over a mile and 8" of ice in closer. Caught about 10 walleyes on suckers and jigging 22-32 feet deep. A car and a truck were on the ice on Sun out quite a ways. The truck had a 4 wheeler in the back, I would not recomend this from what I saw.

Going out that far there was probably a dozen spots where there was a crack and a bunch of water rose to the top and made it pretty slushy.
