No safe ice yet. Tonight she should lock up finally if the wind goes down. It would be nice to start hitting the larger lakes in the area soon.

I was by there on Friday and the ice isn't anything close to safe. There is very crappy ice out a few hundred yards then it's white caps.

She's froze over. I was by there tonight before dark and there was a portable out from the Waters Edge.

Two days ago there were white caps there and yesterday it was froze. Looked like a chopped up mess to me. Not as solid as good clear ice.

Believe it or not it did freeze over on Sunday night even with that wind. I haven't checked the ice on the Glenwood end but with two nights down to 5 above I'm sure it's walkable.

I was up at my parents place today on Minnewaska. I walked out about 20 yards or so and checked the ice. Looked like about 3 inches. I am going to wait another day or so before I got out...Hopefully the weather doesn't get too warm and mess it all up for us.

I walked out from the DNR landing on Glenwood end. Two pokes w/ the ice spud and you're thru the ice. Less than 2 inches. Not yet for me.

There was about 4 portables on the Glenwood end and about 7 on the Starbuck end yesterday around 4pm. Not sure of the thickness of the ice but they were pretty far out. One guy was on a pail in the front of the beach in Glenwood. The rest were out in front of the ballroom or off the DNR landing.

Should be good by this weekend for sure.

That woulda been me out there way the $#&% out in the middle from the g-wood end.. theres about 2 1/2" all over with plenty of spots that only have an inch.. pretty unnerving when your poking along and find a spot the size of your house with only an inch of ice!!!

By the way my report is not good, i fished from about 4 till almost 6 and never even read a fish on the vexilar. VERY dissapointed!!

I was out quite far from the Glenwood end last nite. Caught 3 wallye, kept 1. There was a solid 4" plus had all day today. A few small 4 wheelers last nite and quite a few today. Should have 6+ by tomorrow.

Was out this morning near the DNR access: a solid 5 inches most everywhere I went. Small community is starting southwest of Torgy's. Not much luck though. a few days of this cold weather should get the bite going!!
