Hi ya fishyface, we got plenty of open water down here, been fishing prior and spring lake gills crappies and eyes.

Dave Maas is icefishing on platte lake. so this is the best time to fish you got both hard and soft water. I love em both, but soft water is much easier for me.

Im almost tempted to take my boat back out and hit Lake Superiors South Shore for some eyes. Small lakes have a couple inches but the St.Louis River is still open in most spots. Come on 30 below and no rain or snow.

Fishface is jonesing to go out ice fishing. We are planning to get out once we get ice and he finishes class this week.

I hear with the first skim of ice there might be a walrus sighting out on the east side of the cities. Somebody has to belly out to the middle to the lake to see how much ice there is, and it ain't gonna be me!

There already was a walrus sighting, on spring lake. yup I slipped on the ramp putting my boat in last weekend, and in da lake I went!

Still a little bleepy. At least it was when I's trying to set my otter lodge up in 40 mph winds by myself.
