Anyone who fishes Cross with any info. I've always fished the east side of the crappie hole but the West side by the sunken island gets tons of fishing pressure. Anyone have a preference over the other? Also, I use the access on the East side. Is there an access on the West side closer to the sunken island than the one all the way down by the river? Thanks!

I fish it alot during open water. But it has been a while. You are hitting the right spots on the lake. There used to be a beach by the retirement home that I have had luck getting crappies and sunnies at. The end of the lake towards town has also been productive for me. I think the only launch is in town on the river. There used to be one by the dam but is was not mantained and the last time I was going to use it I did not pretty rough shape unlless you had a small light boat. Good Luck and if you know any good spots to try on the ice let me know

Dawg, thanks for the info. Where is the retirement home you are talking about? I'm guessing close to the river inlet? There is an access by the dam and it is maintained. There is also an unofficial access to the lake farther up the road North and off the highway just a short distance from the point on the North side of the river. It's a good way to get to the crappie hole on the East side without cutting across the entire lake. There is also another unofficial walking from shore spot farther North yet just North of the East crappie hole. Easy to walk from there. I fish the lake alot in the summer also, we'll have to trade some secrets sometime.

There is an unofficial winter access on the West side of the lake, 3/4 of the way North on the lake. I couldn't tell you how to get to it, because it's pure luck when I find it. This is a drive on point. I don't think it's a walk on.

I am not great with direction but it is the west side (town) head south on the main lake it will be on the right about have way down ( might not be a retirment home any more I lived on the lake for 6 yrs when I was a teenager and have not keep up with what is going on in town) Still fish it all the time the end of the lake towards town (south)has been good to me in the summer also. Any way there are some same humps out there that have always produced for me. The old beach would be just North of what used to be the home. Probally hard to tell it used to be a beach The drive on point on the south east side of the lake still there it was a cut beteewn the trees thing ?

The nursing Home is still there, Southwest side of the lake, and that road cut between the trees on the East side of the lake is now blocked up. I lived on the East side of the lake growing up. Used to always be the road going from town to across the lake up thru the trees. I doubt you'd be able to tell where the old beach was unless you had been there as a kid, but it always was a good spot to catch fish!I'd say about halfway between the nursing home and the river inlet. Anyone ever fish on the north side of the lake in the winter by the point where it drops off to about 18 feet? Looks like good structure but I don't see anyone fishing it.

Was wondering the same thing after fishing there last year. Asked a couple people on the ice but didn't really get a clear response.
