I have been told by our vet to use buffered aspirin if you choose to use it at all.

We use up to 100mg buffered asprin per 10 lbs of body weight 2 times a day. It sure helps keep a dog up and eating on day 4&5 of a big hunting trip. You can buy 500mg tablets that are flavored for dogs. A little pricey but no hassel giving them.

I use the dog aspirin from Fosters and Smith. Buffered aspirin also works - don't use ibuprofen.
