Anyone going to be on the water this weekend?

Second week of December, temps in the low 40's, what else can one ask for? If I play my cards right I'll be down there both days since this will be the last time on the soft water for the year for me. Hopefully the bite will be better than last Sunday. Look forward to seeing some FMers on the water this weekend.

I will be on the Croix on Sunday. I am fishing pool #4 tomorrow. I will be fishing north of Prescott for most of the day depending on the bite. I will probably launch in Prescott in the morning.

I'll be on the river tomorrow north of Prescott as well. What a great weekend to end the year with! We'll be in my buddies fishhawk with a 115 merc. Good Luck!

Yup, I'll be down there likely on Sunday in the blue/white Nitro. Tomorrow (Saturday) looks like a Pool #2 wingdam day for me and a friend. We'll see what shakes out.

Don't forget a bit of salt/sand for the launch if you're going early or late.

I got back in from Pool 4 today, where the bite was so so but I managed 50 fish and had a blast! Actually that's the first time down there this year, I love to hunt with my English Setter and so pheasant hunts have been taking place, But it's nice to put the S in croixSippi once again!

All fish on ringies! I've been using these for six years now and they continue to impress. I worked some new areas with no luck, and tried a sure fire presentation (one to attack snags and pull out the lurkers) that "back fired" (ha!) and then hit the dam area about 10:00. I didn't hit the low light bite, just the vertical bite. But coming from the Croix that vertical bite is just fine and dandy!

Is St Croix Bluffs launch still open? If not, what is a good launch to use.

St Croix Bluffs launch was iced over today. It looked like someone chip there way out of there in the last couple days but you can't do it with out a chisel. I ended up launching out of Prescott and Fished from there to catfish point only managing 1 sauger. Still a great day to be out. I have the same question with the launching. It looked like a couple boats launched in Afton, how's that launch?

Anyone else have luck today?

Yup, Saturday was a good day to be out there in terms of nice weather and few other boaters. Couldn't catch a fish in 4 hours of trying, however. Ringworms, Superdoos, twister tails, meat... you name it, it was tried. Not so much as a short strike.

I opted today to head to Pool #4 and did much better in just a couple hours on the water. Weather permitting, I'll likely be out on the Croix again before the ice sets in.
