Ice conditions

Recommended Posts

Drove by Wood (yellow midicine county), Tyson, school grove, and Lady Slipper; all where around 75% froze up. Geese are keeping them open for the most part.

Anyone in Wood Lake or Cottonwood area know how I could get permision to goose hunt around 'Slipper or School Grove, there is alot of geese in that area?

Anyone else check the lakes???

Benton was about 3/4 iced. The ponds are iced here but not enough to walk on. Of course I tried smirk.gif

The east end of Lake Benton should be open by this weekend. Shore fishing at night has been hot. grin.gif

  • 2 weeks later...

Since i'm too heavy for ice we have wink.gif, I went to the river and got a 20 inch walleye and a 15inch sauger. Heard that bite was real good this past week so tried it.

How is ice situation? Hopefully this weekend. Maybe try Hanska confused.gif

Hey angler....just curious what you got them to bite on. Was down to the river 2 weekends ago and caught 6 walleyes in only 1 hour of fishing, but since then, not even a smell.

Thanks SPUD

I caught the 20" on a red hook and two fatheads. The sauger with one fathead. there was a boat out there and was doing better.

I'm up at school in Bemidji and I'm coming home to Redwood for break. Has anyone been out on "Lake" Redwood? I doubt there is a whole lot of ice by the dam but a few years back we caught some walleyes there. Does anyone else know of anywhere that I might be able to find some ice during break?

MGH, I live up by the park entrance in Redwood and I havent seen anyone out there. I drove down by the access yesterday and couldnt see any ice mounds where someone had drilled a hole either. I think I am going to give it a better look this weekend and find out for myself.

Later, SPUD
