Ice on LOW?

Can i get a straight story on the ice situation up there, I have heard that the small lakes have ice, even some guys fishing on them? I have even heard that the bays on LOW have a skim of ice on them. Hopefully with the colder temps it will make some more ice. I would appreciate any informaton anybody has? Picked up some chubby darters...and they better work guys!

I saw a web cam from one of the resorts that showed skim ice on the shoreline in a bay but that was it.

Hansen if you use them you will catch fish on them. They are deadly on LOW.

Just talk to the people at Wigwam. NO ICE!! River is flowing pretty quick. 4 mile bay is open. Suppose to go Dec 8-11. Got my fingers crossed.

Northlander- I grabbed what looked best to me, the perch color and the real roach color, hoping to get me a big one. No ice, oh man lets hope it gets cold before Dec. 17??

They Chubby Darters are in a faily decent sized packaged and they are made by Salmo. They just look like a minnow. AHHH so frusterating, where is the cold weather, and its also weird that some people claim that there is some ice on small lakes and even on the LOW bays too, well someone who knows...which one is IT???

haha widetrack, im just worried that my trip is going to be cancelled on dec.17th, but alot changes between now and then too. But so many people say so many different things. Oh well??

I'm pretty sure the ice will be setup by the 17th for at least some sort of fishing. (ATV's Snowcats etc...) It looks like Muskeg is formed over... We need a few cold nights, and hopefully the wind will stay down.

I'm getting the itch pretty bad here too! Good luck, stay safe.

Update: From Buffalo point looking South. Rotten looking shore ice, and lots of open water.

JHANSEL7 You better ask santa clause for a LOW lake map HA HA Its north of Springsteel on the west side of the lake. Im praying for some ice by the 11th of dec because Im coming up from the Cambridge area to do some jigging and beer drinking. Ive got my auger, rods, tackle box, cooler, heater, house, and life jacket on a pile in my garage ready to head north.

No ice is driving me absoultly NUTSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

Drove down by the public access here in Warroad yesterday to check out the ice. The river is all frozen over and the ice extends out into the lake for over a hundred yards. The forecast is calling for temps down to 10-20 degrees above. What will make the biggest difference is the fact that the usual "wind from h***" isn't blowing. We have had calm nights so far. Let's hope it stays that way!

14 degrees in Baudette right now, looks like low of 7!!! Getting closer, a few more nights like this and we might be in buisness!!

I just called wigwam lodge to check on the ice. Bad news 4 mile bay is still wide open I can't belive this. it's not looking good for any time soon

JHansel7, I too am starting to worry about my trip 20--23. It is absolutely killing me. I have until the 2nd to cancel or not.
