Tip ups

Recommended Posts

I'm going to buy a tip up tommorrow. what would be the best one to get, and what would be the recommended line type and weight for Mille Lacs walleyes and perch. Also we're going out of McQuoid's this weekend, does anyone have any thoughts on where to fish and what to use as bait. Any help will be greatly appreciated, as it has been about 20 years since I have been on the ice. Thanks

I would recommend getting a frabill tip-up. They cover your hole so I doesn't freeze. They also fit perfectly in a 5 gallon pail and cost about $20-25. If you're fishing walleye's and perch I would use regular black tip-up line with about 3 or 4 feet of mono at the end. Good Luck!
