Tasty Mergansers!

A few years back the Feds. decided that one way to make the overall waterfowl population of the country look larger was to include Mergansers in the count, and thus in the bag limit. They wanted to make sure it looked like they were doing their job, increasing the population of "waterfowl". So my friends, my question is: how many do YOU count in your bag and how many do YOU eat?

Pretty tasty I suppose huh?

What will they include next....Killdeers and Herons?

In MN, mergansers have their seperate limit of 5 - not counted with the limit of 6 ducks. See waterfowl suppliment.

The only merganser I'll ever purposefully shoot is an awesome drake that I want to send to the taxidermist.

I accidentally dropped one last year and my dad never let me hear the end of it. You know, I think he even brought it up again this year.

Save a fish eat a Mergy.

I shoot and eat them. The trick is to marinate them.

The can be very good believe it or not.

The hooded mergy makes for a great mount.
