End of the open water season for me. *DELETED* *DELETED*

Saturday was absolutley gorgeous out there. No boat traffic, no wind, peace and quiet, and the Walleyes and Jumbo perch were all but jumpin in the boat grin.gif It just don't get much better than that!!

I know the fishing is always great this time of the year!

If I didn't already have my boat winterized I would be tempted to put it back in the water!

Deer season is over for me already too!

I got 3 deer this weekend including a very nice 10 pointer!

Our hunting party is 6 for 8 already.

Good fishing!

Good to hear you had a successful hunt. Saturday was probably my last time out on open water too, they pulled the docks out at the landing so putting in was a bit of a pain. But if the weekend is really nice ya never know grin.gif

Cliff,

It is sad but saying that, I have a spark of anticipation for next season. I look forward to your great knowledge and hospitality for the Vermilion area. Thank you, we'll talk to you next open water season.

Hey Cliff, sounds like you topped off a good fishing season with a great deer hunt. I had a great fall chasing those bills around on LOW. Even though I spent 40 days up there the season ended to fast! I'm still looking for that monster buck however. Going to give it hell this weekend and then head to Iowa to chase pheasants with my wife. Probably see ya on the ice! I also think we ( big V guides ) should get together again before spring. phil

Mike,

Yes it is always a sad day when the open water season ends on Vermilion. But I am already anticipating the hard water season, as I enjoy winter fishing as much as I do summer fishing.

See you next summer!!

Hey Cliff

I feel your pain. We hauled out "Suits Optional" my 29 foot Chris Craft out of Lake Michigan on Monday. I was one of the last to go out of the harbor. The my green boat is still operational, but close to winterization. I was depressed on Monday, calling the students by wrong names and all. Then I got to thinking about hard water, the snow machines, Thanksgiving up in my woods, trips to Trout Lake with you and the depression started lifting. Here's to hard water and enough snow for a good winter of trail riding.

See ya in a couple weeks. If it is soft water, I'll bring the Tuffy!
