Lake O'dowd walleyes

Recommended Posts

I been all over that lake and from what the structure looks like I would beleive that there would be Eyes in there. I tried every area...nothing. Am I doing something wrong. Jigging tipped with minnow, vertical jigging, cranking. I worked every deep hole...Maybe there in the shallows, but thats hard to beleive..or there might not be any in there, Any help would be great.

O-Dowd sucks for walleyes dude - They are supposedly in there, but few and far between - Go to Prior and work the structure and you will have a lot better chance at getting some eyes to bring home for a fry - They average 12 to 14 inches for me so far this year in Prior....

I tried it earlier this year and caught a half dozen cigars about 6 inches long. The northerns and bass probably eat them before there big.

The northerns in O'Dowd have really gotten up there in average size - 23 to 28 inches - I would definetely rate it as one of the better ones in the area - Find a weedline away from the crowd and you will have northern action out there - I like the area in front of the landing until too many guys start going out, then just push out further away from the group on either side of the big island later.
