Back from a little fishing trip

Well made it back from doing some fishing at Mille Lacs over the full moon. Found the bite to be pretty good to great most times. Spend my nights trolling the weeds on the west shores of Milly. Was surprised to catch numbers of slots to eat as well as a mix of larger walleyes. Bite really seems to be slowing down now, but was decent over the full moon phase. fish seem to be stacked in the scattered weeds and we had nice action most nights on shallow running shad raps in 7-10 ft. Had lots of fun and caught some nice fish. Hope others did well too.

I may be headed up tomorrow evening and your comment about the bite slowing has me a little nervous! I was hoping for the bite to be pretty good with the moon showing itself and the weather being fairly stable and also there being a lot less boat traffic! I'm planning to fish the west side as you have!

Got to fish a couple nights around Pikes Point did really well with multiple 22" & one heavy 23" walleye on walleye divers and shallow running reef runners. Nice to catch a few keepers before ice season. No big fish but thats ok 23" is huge for an Iowan. Go Hawkeyes
