So I'm taking my first venture out on Mille Lacs Saturday morning so I was hoping to get a lot of advice from the veterans. I'll be heading up 169 and was hoping to launch south of the Casino so which launch is going to put me nearest to where I might find some walleyes?? Second, are crank baits the ticket this time of year or are most people still draggin leaches? Third, I'll be targeting the south side of the lake so are there any spots that I should definately concentrate on. I've got a decent map of the lake but I'm so used to fishing small lakes that I don't even know where to start. Sorry for the long message folks but I really want to be prepared so I don't wander around aimlessly. I appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks, bigbak32

If your fishing at night and launching around the Casino, make sure you lock your doors and don't leave anything of value. Try trolling cranks or bobber fishing with Leeches the edges of the east gravel bar that extends out from Indian Point. There has also been a good bite north of Spirit Island in 32 feet on bobbers and Leeches after dark. Eddy's has been bringing Elders out there everynight and doing very well.

Barely had time and data to post a few random daily pics!  😄   Iffen you’re self banned, how’d ya know? 😉   Sunday - Tuesday hunt near Yankton, SD.  We found ourselves there between two of the big pushes north.  Adults first, pushing the ice line north, slipped through a couple days before we got there and the second juvie push held up by the storm that went through the night we traveled.  Our best day was Monday.  Sunny and warm with a nice south wind.  Day 3 was cool with a stiff northeast wind bringing in another storm.     A select few groups did well with birds coming off Lewis and Clark lake but we weren’t in their path.  We packed up early and hit the road.  We headed north and found them between Brookings and Watertown.  Saw 100’s of thousands at the ice line.

Crazy, about 50 Robin's hit our yard!  Not sure what their eating but none are in any of the neighbors yards around us?  Had to cut video down so it would run.  20250319_175454.mp4
