comin up to the big lake

me and my dad are coming up to lacs this weekend for the first time and i was just wondering if anyone could give us some pointers on where to go and what we shoud use...much appreciated.thanx!

If you take some time and read into these forums, you will notice the walleyes are literally jumping in your boat these days. It has been exceptional!! As far as where to go, any reef will do. Otherwise just look for a cluster of boats. A 6' snell with a red bead, hook, and leech seems to get the nod, but other presentaions can be effective also. The key is to keep your drift/troll as slow as possible. A drift sock can be your best friend at times on the big pond. But a trolling motor will usually suffice. I'd wish you luck, but you really don't need it! Maybe wishing for decent weather would be more appropriate?

eye's 111 You will enjoy your trip to the big pond. I regulary fish it and I have never seen it so good. Tonka boy is right about the slow trolling it is very effective but the best way to catch them on that lake is to slip bobber. I will stand by it untill the day I die. Find a good pile of rocks, set it about a foot off the bottom and get the net ready. Good luck!
