i havent tried dove hunting yet but I still see alot whenever im out bowhunting or duck hunting. how has everyone been doing in out first season? I know that you have too use plugged shotguns but do i have to use steel shot? im thinking of trying it one night this week in one of my buddys pastures. thanks in advance

Riverrat,

Here is the exact wording from the DNR handbook. You do not need to use non-toxic shot when hunting Morning Doves.

FIREARM AND AMMUNITION RESTRICTIONS
Shotguns used for taking doves may not be capable of holding more
than three shells, unless the gun is plugged with a one-piece filler that
cannot be removed without disassembling the gun.

I would imagine you would still have to use the steel in a water fowl production area though, just like you do for pheasant.
But since your going in your buddies pasture.........
