dead walleyes?

Recommended Posts

I was on the lake last Mon. and of course did very well. We saw only one floating walleye in the 12hrs we were on the lake. The next day a friend told me that they were on the lake the week before and with there underwater camera saw quite a few dead walleyes on the bottom. Has anyone else tried this to see how many might be on the bottom? I wasn't aware that the dead ones might not float. Most of the 20" we caught looked pretty healthy, but a few 24's looked on the skinny side. I have a very bad feeling about this kind of a bite we are seeing. Unfortunately the lake is being managed politically and not biologically. I sincerely hope something can be done to avert what could be a very ugly demise for a great lake!
