check your nearest pheasant farm\game farm you should be able to get any type of wing you want.

other wise when I first got my dog just bring him out running in your hunting spots your not shooting any birds but just seeing them, he will get the picture.

If you can, go the Game Fair out in Ramsey. I was there yesterday and a couple of booths had buckets of wings for sale.

Ya, what Bemidji said, most sproting goods stores loke Scheels all sports sells them.
I bought the Dead fowl training dummy this year too, a little more life like as far as size and weight, plus you can inject scent in to it.

Gander Mountain sells pheasant wings. I would also recommend the Dokken dead fowl training dummies. They also work great for water retrieves. I have a four month old golden and used the pheasant wings in the hallway the first couple of weeks. For some reason the dog just doesn't like bumpers, but will retrieve the Dokken training dummy, and any stuffed animal from my son's bedroom. I've been using the wings again for short land doubles. Enjoy your new pup.

I don't know if there all the same but the couple I've checked into were about $150 to $175 a year. Do a search for "Shotgun Sports"
you should come across a web site that has a good list of all the game farms/hunting preserves in Minnesota.

BBP, pups are always going to prefer wings/dead birds/live birds over dummies. Use the wings at the end of the training session as a reward. And I wouldn't use any wings until they love dummies. As you're finding out, if the love for retrieving isn't strong enough, they'll refuse dummies if the real thing is around.

Go to the game farm buy a couple of roosters. have them put out for you and then hunt them up, shoot them, take them home cook'em up and there you will have your wings.
You get to have fun with the hunt. the puppie will get to run around and get a snoot full of scent, and in the end you get a meal!! What could be better than that?
