Sugar Walleyes

Recommended Posts

Ok, I haven't caught a walleye all summer and I plan to go to Sugar lake this weekend for some early morning Muskies. If they aren't biting, I would like to try for some walleyes. Anyone have any tips? I've tried the bar in the middle of the lake that tops out at about 19 feet, but I haven't even seen a fish on the depth finder. I've caught a couple northerns and a good share of bass and small sunnies, but I want two good eaters to put on the table. My email is Tonyjor2atcharterdotnet if you don't want to post your secrets. Any help is greatly appreciated and I will be sure to return the favor. Thanks!!

Boy, going on the weekend is tough enough. If I were you I would try early or late in the day. Crawlers may be the ticket this time of year, the sunnies may bother you but late in the day the Walleyes may slide in and get on your line. Pick a break line in adjacent to deeper water and you might score some eaters. If all else fails, take some Sunfish! They taste better anyways smile.gif

Good Luck,

Thanks for the tips! I went out there on the 7th and only caught a few snakes and some various bass, which I don't eat. Has anyone been out to Sugar lately? I'm still looking for some walleyes smile.gif or maybe a nice Muskie. I've tried for them every time I've been out and I've only had a couple follows early in the season. I haven't seen one for a while now. Any tips? I plan on going tomorrow morning. Thanks for any help.
