west or south end spots

I have heard alot about the north end sand but does anyone have any luck on the west or south ends of the lake in the early (May/June) part of the year?? Are there any areas that are better than others in this part of the lake? I would be willing to exchange some info and GPS spots in these areas. Thanks

Hey Rocky,

In early spring last year, The breakline between Eddies and Indian point produced ALOT of fish (livebait rigging and small spinners & leeches). There of course, is a considerable amount of traffic in this location.

You should also try Mazomee on the South end(spelling?) point near Cove bay entrance. This area also produces very good numbers slip bobbering.

Garrison bay running crankbaits in 5 to 15' of water produced very well.

Finally, in the SE corner, Hawkbill reef using slip bobbers, livebait rigs and crankbaits produced very good numbers, along with a good chance at some slot fish.

There are more, but this is a pretty good starting point. I hope this helps.

D-man,

I will most likely be going out of the NE corner (Malmo, Wilderness). This really depends on the the weather conditions though. I will definetely be on the windward side of the lake.

Assuming it is the NE, we will start like we usually do (Search and extract). I will run cranks to locate, and if they are concentrated in a particular area, we will try slip bobbering or livebait rigging.

We will most likely move down the East shoreline trying out several locations.
This trip is our opener/Pre-prefishing for the Midwest Tourney trail contests on the 18th and 19th out of Macs.
